ECLAIR, LINUX NETWORKING FIRMWARE
ECLAIR, the embedded Linux 2.6 firmware from CRL Sweden, is a complete firmware perfectly compatible and optimized to run C-CORE, CRL’s Mesh Software protocol. The multipurpose and customizable firmware is a robust and optimized operating platform for Mesh enabling devices for OEM, ODM, Product Manufacturers and System Integrators. The ECLAIR firmware and C-CORE Mesh drivers together can run on systems and including Broadband Networks, Tactical Military Applications, Telematics, Logistics, Mining, Heavy Industries and Telemetry.
ECLAIR User Interface
The embedded Linux-based platform can run on resource constrained hardware platforms and on a variety of other architectures. With 4MB flash memory and 16MB RAM, ECLAIR with the combination of C-CORE (CRL’s Mesh Protocol Driver) is operational for comprehensive and large-scale Mesh Networks. The ÉCLAIR platform offers numerous possibilities for system configuration in terms of encryption, tunneling, radio interfaces and connections. Its firmware is remarkably convenient, suitable for highly functional, secure and manageable Wireless Networking devices.
ECLAIR’s multiple BSSID functionality for up to 16 virtual APs together with VPN or GRE tunnels provides security and flexibility to the platform. This particular feature extends endless possibilities for adaptable and secure network structures within a single physical Wireless Network. With WEP/WPA/WPA2 and 802.1x hardware supporters, security is enabled through mesh protocol encryption, software traffic encryption or hardware encryption.
CRL’s versatile ECLAIR enables configuration of several wireless interfaces. These are interchangeable between low cost hardware with all traffic over a single radio channel and lower bandwidth. It can also cater for a Mesh solution with combined Backhaul and AP mode on One(!) single radio card for compact and cost effective network solutions. Its diverse features support Network Management, Configuration and Monitoring. Devices equipped with CRL’s ECLAIR OS can be managed manually through secure shell configuration or through a separate adaptable Network Management System server by CRL. The NMS software is a combined Network viewer GUI and a Mesh Network configuration tool.
SNMP extends detailed network statistics and node status. Mesh software agents on the nodes can also be inquired by a server side database application for mesh specific data; routing tables and topology information being some of them.
