2007
2007- 2008 have been the ‘Years of New Technology Research and Development’ for CRL.
2007- 2008 have been the ‘Years of New Technology Research and Development’ for CRL. Since 2007, we have actively been involved in extensive research and development of new technologies for our valued customers. Owing to the fact that our Mesh technology is indispensable to their next generation products, CRL is persistently upgrading and fine tuning this expertise for the future market success of our clientele.
Our customers tend to remain low profile as far as the technology positioning in the market is concerned. This is due to the strategic and security measures of the firm, which would otherwise become risky at a larger scale. CRL Sweden’s customers are market giants in numerous fields and applications ranging from high technology military surveillance systems, car manufacturer with Telematic solutions, Operators and Broadband system integrators to Industrial Telemetric system suppliers. We are currently busy endorsing our knowledge and making giant strides in the Mesh technology and others to serve our worthy customers more and better than ever before.
2006
Wireless communication: Data traffic between vehicles over UHF-band radio
A progressive step was taken by CRL in the subject of wireless communication. CRL has been working in collaboration with Svenska Antennspecialisten AB on commission to
Optimation AB. A wireless communication system has been developed that utilizes the UHF band for data communication between test cars that are within the coverage area of 2 km radius. These vehicles are equipped with GPS transceivers, allowing them to establish a point-to-point link.
In addition to this, adepts at CRL worked with support software and LINUX platform for this system which handles the wireless communication over UHF-radio, GPRS and WLAN. The system is capable of attaining shared traffic bandwidth as high as 19.2 kbps with time-slot allocation for multiple inter-vehicle communications.
2006
Educational assignment of ad hoc communication within the international Master program
With a notion of high impeccability, CRL has accepted an assignment by University of Kalmar to conduct lectures in the subject of ad hoc communication and Mesh networks as a part of the core course ”Wireless Communication” at the international program MASTER OF
SCIENCE IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING. The lectures contained theory of networking, TCP/IP and ad hoc routing protocols.
Along with the theory lessons, we also supervised a project focusing on advanced algorithms for Quality of Service (QoS) within distributed wireless networks with the consent of the university.
2005
Industrial IT: OPC-client software for PLC software configuration
In the area of client software’s, CRL developed an unimpeachable and apt application named N-link for Norden Machinery AB. The purpose of this software based application was to steer eclectic and diverse controls that were to be configured individually for each and every one of the PLC machines manufactured by Norden Machinery.
N-link is fashioned in a way, that it can provide user-centered and easily-managed databases with Excel spreadsheet format support that can be easily manoeuvred.
2005
2005-2008 ISpace Intelligent Sensor Networks research project (pågående)
This was a research project with close focus on Wireless sensor networks. It was carried out in close cooperation with Ericsson AB and the University of Kalmar. This project will be a part of KK-financed (the Knowledge Foundation) research program "Industrial development for a sustainable society".
The objective of this project is that it will deal with the development of intelligent sensor networks for environmental monitoring. Where as such networks can be used in a variety of applications, where it is desirable to randomly deploy sensors over large areas to collect measurement information from the environment. Such measurement cases can be temperature and/or levels of chemical or biological substances.
2005
AODV IPv6 implementation
The competent team of CRL along with the Telecom Giant Ericsson Microwave Systems AB developed an AODV IPv6 within the project Building Blocks for Network Centric Warfare (B2NCW).
2005
Cooperation project with Svenska Antennspecialisten AB: Radio Streaming in wireless networks
The cooperation project between CRL and Antennspecialisten AB was meant to provide services for wireless, i.e. mobile, clients in mines.
During the project the first developed conceptual service was a radio application for real time audio streaming. This server application provided support to multiple radio channels which were time delayed. It also enabled the clients in the mine to be out of reach from any WLAN access point, while they are still able to play audio.
Normally audio buffering is dependent on a variety of factors including available bandwidth, number of connected clients, and the quantity of radio that is already buffered.
2004
Development of an intelligent sensor network
CRL carried out this development project together with Ericsson Microwave Systems AB (EMW), as it was a cooperation project between EMW, Ericsson Telebit A/S Denmark and BAE Systems UK. The final demonstration of this project took place in April 2006.
CRL developed a testbed for an unattended sensor network (UGSN) for demonstration purposes in December 2004. This sensor network will be responsible to point towards the functionality of distributed and decentralized information fusion in the network.
2004
Service development for wireless communication in mines
It was a development project for Svenska Antennspecialisten AB. During the project CRL developed software in close cooperation with Antennspecialisten AB for the infrastructure provided by Antennspecialisten. Their provided infrastructure and our developed software made wireless communication possible i.e enabling access to Internet and other services in mines thousand of meters below the surface.
Key functionalities of the CRL developed software was, that it can measure client signal strength and can enable two-dimensional positioning for demonstration of the concept.
2004
Communication software between a mobile ad hoc network and a backbone over a GPRS link, and situation picture application
CRL carried out this development project for Ericsson Microwave Systems AB. It involved Implementation of ad hoc routing protocol MEARP. MEARP is basically a light weight routing protocol where routing overhead is transported transparently in the ARP protocol. See report….
2004
Implementation of routing protocol MEARP
Development project for Ericsson Microwave Systems AB. Implementation of ad hoc routing protocol MEARP. MEARP is a light weight routing protocol where routing overhead is transported transparently in the ARP protocol. See report A New Strategy for Mobile Ad Hoc Communication for more information.
2003
Development of concept system / testbed of wireless sensor network
Development of concept system / testbed of wireless sensor network.
During the trade fare CIMI2003 (civilian and military cooperation), CRL developed a concept system for an unattended ground sensors network (UGSN). This system was demonstrated together with Ericsson Microwave Systems AB (EMW) and Exensor AB.
The sensor network developed by CRL was based on ad hoc communication and it used sensors from Exensor. The system was adapted for the communication and presentation framework developed by EMW for the future of the Swedish network based defense system. The sensor network was communicating through a satellite link to the trade fare where surveillance information was displayed in a graphical application.
