Intelligent Sensor Networks - an Agent-Oriented Approach (Poster)Poster submitted by CRL to the workshop realWSN arranged by SICS. See also all Online-proceedings at SICS homepage. AbstractThis paper describes the agent oriented programming paradigm for development of intelligent sensor networks. The case study was performed by implementing a testbed using JADE, Java Agent DEvelopment Framework, as a basis of testing this proposed approach, and making implemental experiences of the agent paradigms maturity for dynamic wireless sensor networks. The application of the specific implementation is an Unattended Ground Sensor Network, UGSN, for surveillance of moving targets. An intelligent sensor network in this case should consist of autonomous sensor nodes, which exchange information, reason and collaborate with each other. The UGSN should preserve energy resources and work as one unit when delivering fused and compiled sensor information to the end user. |

A New Routing Strategy for Mobile Ad Hoc CommunicationSubmitted for the Degree of Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.
The aim of this thesis was to develop a new routing strategy for mobile ad hoc communication with key features such as utilization of as little computational resources as possible thereby consumed power due to the fact that most wireless devices use batteries and therefore have a limited lifetime. Requirements were set that routes should be established as fast as possible to provide almost instant communication. Stability issues such as link connectivity between intermediate systems were also important during the development. |

Intelligent Sensor Networks - an Agent-Oriented ApproachSubmitted for the Degree of Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.
In this report the abstraction level of the agent oriented approach is investigated for distributed systems. Ideas and concepts concerning data and information fusion are presented and discussed. A testbed of an intelligent ground sensor network is implemented with the intention of investigating agent orientated and gain experience of the maturity of the agent oriented paradigm for dynamic and distributed networks in ad hoc environments. Software agents have been used in an intelligent way to get the units in the network to cooperate and only distribute relevant information. |
